At the start of each New Year, it’s pretty common for folks to make resolutions: losing weight, starting better eating habits, going back to school, etc. Unfortunately most resolutions are null and void before the month of January is even over. (more…)
There are so many things I want to accomplish in life, or next week for that matter but I often wonder where will I find the time, the energy, or the money? I’m generally a fairly organized person. In fact, I LOVE lists – it’s the only way I can function properly. At on point, I carried around a mini notebook with a list for each week. If there was something I needed to accomplish that week, I’d just whip out the notebook, jot it down or cross it off as needed. Hey, don’t judge me! LOL!
A list prevents me from overspending at the grocery store and allows me to remember exactly what it is I’m supposed to do – or want to do. I recently found a list I made about 13 years ago. One of the items said “to purchase my first home”. I was able to accomplish that 4 years later. As I think of all the things I’ve been able to cross off my daily list, I’ve decided to do another long term list. So far, this is what I’ve come up with – in no particular order.
- Complete my graduate degree
- Take my family to Disney World
- Take my family on a Disney cruise
- Start my own business
- Declutter my home
- Have a garage sale
- Learn to swim
- Build a tree house/playhouse for Petunia
- Finish the basement living area
- Visit Las Vegas
- Travel to Europe
- Build a built-in dresser system
- Learn to sew
- Learn to knit
- Learn to crochet
- Purchase a new home
- Attend a blogger convention
- Learn to speak French fluently
What are some of the items on your bucket list? What are some major items you’ve crossed off your list?
**Update: I just found an old computer printout dated 6/5/2012. On the back I started a to do list. The first thing I listed says “Start blogging”. Wow!
